How does everyone feel about call-in fund raisers. Here is a post I made on Facebook. Tell me what your honest opinion on it. I did not like how they were conducting themselves..
Klove radio station made me so mad today. They were stressing a donation thing to their radio stations. They stressed how if your life didn't have a lot of good things going on it maybe because you haven't given anything and it was God that was telling you to take this "leap of faith". Klove was sharing sad stories about a mans wife dying and how people should give in and spend money on the radio station. The way they were asking for people to spend $40 a month with the drama music in the background like it was the newest commercial to buy a car with the DJ voice mic sounding deeper with an echo. They said with that donation of $40 a month they would buy 1 kid a pair of shoes.. For $40 a month?? I could buy around 6 pairs for that price to give to kids. Where is the other money going? The way they stressed the kids need this only donation made me sick. They talked about how everyone should call at the same time and had a fake little countdown. They talked about goals they had to reach out to 240 new $40/month members. Did not sound like a true donation but rather a mind tease to pull at the heart strings... When donating to something do not do it for the music, the sad stories, to help them reach a certain number of new people blah blah.. Do it cause you have your heart already set on doing it... you do not have to go through your favorite company to do so. Just driving to a shelter, a park, etc would be enough.
